This morning we were supposed to tender to Stanley in the Falkland Islands but unfortunately the winds were too high and the captain made the decision not to attempt the tenders. To say it was disappointing is an understatement but we do understand the need for safety. Fortunately because we knew we had a 50/50 chance of making the Falklands and seeing Penguins there I reserved a tour in Puerto Madryn d where we will see the Penguins at Punta Tombo.
This picture of our ship and the rainbow was taken by someone on the serenade of the Seas which is on its World cruise and has been following us since Antarctica.
So we had an extra day at sea and the cruise director and staff quickly changed all the activities that were offered during the day. We did yoga this morning and then attended a lecture about Ronald Amerson and his exploration of Antarctica. The afternoon we relaxed in the solarium and then this evening we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at La Petite Chef. The dinner was a delicious and the interactive video presentation on the table was very cute and fun to watch. Unfortunately my videos are not uploading to the blog so I will post some pictures of our meal which was delicious I had lobster and filet mignon and everything was very very delicious.
My appetizer of burrata salad.
The 2nd course of boullibaise.
The main course of surf and turf.
And dessert!
All in all, it was a very very enjoyable meal. I will try to post the videos on my Facebook page. I know many of you who follow the blog do not do Facebook but believe me when I tell you it was a lot of fun to watch.
Tomorrow is another day at Sea and we will finally be at another port on Wednesday. The port is Puerto Madryn re and we have an excursion to see the Penguins at Punto Tombo.
I'm so interested in that world cruise, how cool that you met the ship in the water!
